Welcome to the official website of Impact Investing Group! We are a student-led, registered non-profit organization focused on educating & facilitating impact investing in our communities. My name is Rhea Punjabi, and I am honored to be the President of IIG for 2024. Established in the fall of 2017, the Impact Investing Group has flourished into an active community of University of Michigan students, deeply interested in the crossroads of impact and business. As a Growth Equity Impact Investment group, our methodology begins with financial and social evaluations to select businesses in the Metro-Detroit area for investment. This is followed by a lending phase, where we offer accessible microloans to these chosen businesses. After completing our careful review and lending stages, we enter into a semester of transformation consulting with the businesses in our portfolio. This phase focuses on achieving profitability and strategic development, enabling these businesses to reach their maximum potential. Our goal is to consistently uplift and enhance our Michigan communities through the transformative power of Impact Investing.
Becoming a part of IIG has been my most rewarding experience at the University of Michigan. Our organization is dedicated to driving real, significant change in the community and provides students with insights into the interplay between consulting and finance within the realm of Growth Equity.
